Vereeniging is a city in Gauteng province, South Africa, situated where the Klip River empties into the northern loop of the Vaal River. It is also one of the constituent parts of the Vaal Triangle region and was formerly situated in the Transvaal province.

1. Maccauvlei Golf Club

Maccauvlei Golf Course is one of the best around and has played host to various big tournaments over the years. An excellent links-type course on the south bank of the Vaal River in Vereeniging. An excellent accomplishment for a club that has made only slight changes to the original course. The original architect was, George Peck upon whose work Major S.V Hotchkin put finishing touches and many years later it was another master of golf architecture that saw over the courses slight retouches and restoration – Peter Matkovich. Known as the “Queen of inland links” Maccauvlei is an 18 hole championship, parkland layout course topped with Bent grass. Three tee’s are offered and as such the course caters to a wide variety of golfer. So come and experience the old English charm of Maccauvlei, where Charl Schwartzel started out his illustrious career, on your next golfing excursion.

2. Jabulani Butterfly Garden

This is a wonderful place for both adults and children and makes for a great outing. A walk through the flight house will bring you up close and personal with both local and exotic butterflies. The garden also has a number of smaller animals on display.

3. De Kraal Antiques

De Kraal Antiques with its wide selection of both interesting and unusual items of furniture and farm antiques is the place for you then! The collection also includes a wonderful selection of old engines. The owner of De Kraal travels throughout the country attending sales and ensuring that there is always a good selection for sale. Go and have a look – you never know what you might find!

4. Orange Farm Park

A 4.5 hectare park just off Regional Street in Extension 1 that has a series of swings, a jungle gym, a roundabout and other children’s playground equipment. It also has a series of benches for those who come to sit.
